Can It Really Happen
Well, that answer will be different depending on the person you ask. Some believe you can. Others believe you can’t. Still others don’t know one way or the other.
Nonetheless, I am going to give you my opinion as the author of a paranormal romance series. Please feel free to comment with your own beliefs about this subject!
What Would Likely Be The Case
Recently, I watched a good documentary on Netflix about Thomas Jefferson. I love history, and I’ve always been fascinated with how ancient people from the USA, Native Tribes, and around the globe, managed to accomplish so much without all the modern conveniences we enjoy today.
So, let us use President Jefferson as an example of how I think this would really go…..
Assuming that a person alive today can indeed contact a person who died years, or centuries, ago, I have often wondered what would be response from them.
Could we ask them questions?
Yes, I’m assuming that we could if that initial contact was made that is.
How would they respond?
Here is the thing I have come to believe: that even if, say, President Jefferson, could be asked a question, he would answer according to the knowledge he had at that time, and how the world viewed people and standards of living.
Q & A With President Jefferson.

Me: Mr. President, what do you think of air travel?
TJ: There’s only one form and that’s air balloons. It’s dangerous and slow. No, I don’t think much about it at all.
Me: Computers are commonplace in 2026. What do you think of them?
TJ: Ahh. I’ve used a slide rule and a Leibritz wheel many times. I’m glad you’re also enjoying them.
Me: Motor vehicles are also commonplace. Can you comment on them?
TJ: I know of a “fardier à vapeur”. It’s a three-wheeled steam-powered artillery tractor. And also the pressured steam locomotive became into being during my presidency. They are perhaps a nice hobby for some. But they will never replace a good horse.
Summary
You get the idea. I don’t think that people of the past can answer questions about things they have never seen or learned about in their time.
