Frankie Reaches A Crossroads

Hey everyone!

I’m thoroughly enjoying adding posts every week! I hope you are enjoying reading them – and if you have not already done so, I encourage you to purchase this ebook series. Just keep in mind that there’s much more to come! Here’s The Link

It’s Been A Struggle

Frankie is so young and impressionable, yet, beneath all that boyish charm is an old soul that helps him make decisions not just based on emotion, but on facts.

All that practicality is great for a person who owns a posh bar (that’s doing extremely well), but, it can get in the way when it comes to matters of the heart.

Born and raised in France, and at a time in history when young men were encouraged to follow their instincts when it came to women, Frankie was still not convinced that he was doing the right thing.

She Came Out Of Nowhere

Louise was also French. Born and raised in a small wealthy village Frankie had never heard of, and from what he previously observed, she was famous the local beauty.

With strawberry blonde hair and dark eyes, Louise Josephine Vincent turned heads every place she went. Of an almost indeterminate age, but likely less than 25, Louise also possessed grace and poise, and that perfectly natural ability to win over just about anyone.

Frankie Was No Exception

It was on a rainy Thursday that Louise walked into Frankie’s bar. Charlene, on duty behind the bar, instantly took a dislike to the girl and threw her her usual daggers-out stare.

“What can I do for you?” Charlene leaned across the bar in her signature manner. It caused her ample bosom to become the center of attention and that alone normally put other women at a disadvantage.

Louise didn’t flinch or bat an eye. She herself was much more modestly dressed, richly dressed even, and was a bit of an oddity as a lone woman entering a bar. Albeit a high class one. “I would like to speak to the owner.” Louise’s voice was pleasant, soft, yet demanding.

Charlene shook her head and turned to continue washing glasses. “It is not possible. He will not be here today.”

Louise persisted, “Then what day will he be here?”

Charlene paused again, wet glass in hand, “That is up to him! He does not let his staff know in advance!”

Louise smiled, revealing lovely white teeth, which was much more impressive, not to mention uncommon, then Charlene’s cleavage. “Of course. Perhaps you could leave him my card?”

Charlene purred, “Yes, surely.” Knowing full well that it would end up in the waste bin as soon as this lady left. But, as Louise took the card out of her elegant velvet purse, Charlene caught sight of a large pearl ring on her finger that left no doubt as to her financial position. That changed Charlene’s mind. Perhaps this pretty young lady could be of use to her future plans with Frankie.

Taking the card and tucking in to her apron, Charlene watched Louise make her exit. The girl was smaller than most in height, with a slim figure and a very graceful stride. She carried herself well and didn’t seem afraid of anything. No doubt, she was born rather high.

Frankie Gets A Surprise

A few minutes after Louise left the bar, Charlene motioned to another bartender to come and take her place behind the bar, and went in the direction of Frankie’s private office. She knocked twice, then after hearing his voice, entered.

“This lady was here to see you.” Charlene handed Frankie the card.

He read the name and looked up sharply. “Why didn’t you show her in?”

“Because I did not realize that she was important until I noticed her expensive jewelry. I’m sure she has money.”

Frankie shook his head. “In the future, you must let me make that decision! I know Louise Vincent!”

Charlene defended herself. “But she did not ask for you by name!”

” That’s because she may not have felt sure of this address. It’s been years since I spoke with her or her family.”

Charlene gave Frankie a sly look. “So…..I’m right? The family is wealthy?”

“Yes,” Frankie was growing more tired of Charlene and her antics daily, “they are. But they are good people as well. Louise is a special girl.”

“More than me?” Now Charlene raised her voice.

“Charlene, my dear, you are a great help to me. Yet there are many facts you don’t say. Such as the fact that you’ll be gone as soon as you manage to get money from me! Or anyone else who crosses your path!”

Charlene abruptly turned and left. Frankie did not know, or at this point care, if she was returning to work or not.

He now had many things to consider……

Frankie is young and ambitious. All kinds of things can be going on with him! Nancy, you’re a very good writer. It’s a highly competitive market and I realize that a lot of talented people never get much credit. I hope that you are not one of them – maybe see your name in the credits of a TV show! : )
