Dead Or Alive It Does Not Change A Thing

What happened?

“Believe in your dreams. They might be telling you who you REALLY are!”

There was a fateful trip that included a train ride headed out west from New York.  Somehow,  just before the train reached the Chicago depot, a man disappeared.

Naturally, this was quite a bit of a mystery.  And it caused an investigation conducted by the local authorities, as well as the train company itself.  And although that investigation went on for well over a year, no one turned up any clues at all.  The passenger had completely vanished.

Who was he?

This particular passenger was a bit of celebrity; especially among the more well-heeled American society.  And as such he himself was very rich.  As was usual when this celebrity travelled, there was a manservant of his in attendance, as well as an assistant to that manservant.  Added to that number were the train porters and waiters assigned to this celebrity alone.  He was a VIP passenger who had tipped ridiculously well and expected to get his money’s worth out of it.

His name was Tracy Douglas Allen, and he stood very tall amongst other men.  Another odd fact in the scenario – no one saw Mr. Allen leave the train and this unusually large build made it unthinkable that he could’ve hidden himself anywhere on the train.

So – how?

The details about that will be revealed in Book #4, tentatively titled “Finding Home”.

However, it was already revealed here on this blog that Allen had been upset that his ex-wife, Anna, had not lived up to her part of their divorce agreement and deposited a large amount of money into Mr. Allen’s account.  Writing a letter about it would take an enormous amount of time to get back and forth, so Allen opted to see his ex in person.  That led him to the train ride that brought his “disappearance.”

Years later.

The story advances quite a few years ahead and introduces new characters, such as Frankie and Darcel.  Both of these two will meet Allen after he suddenly appears in New York City – both alive and well and very wealthy.  It should seem at first that dead or alive it does not change a thing with Allen – but you know, appearances do not mean everything!
