Nora – Frankie – Darcel – Paul – And —

Newbies everywhere.  Yet the original characters still shine.

Nora Wells

Once a wealthy widow who later found out her husband was still alive, Nora has been around CounterClockwise for quite some time.  Oftentimes at odds with our own bad boy, Tracy Douglas Allen, but, after the return of her husband and Allen’s disappearance, she’s been busy with many other things as well.  Mostly, money-related in one way or another.  Charities have played a big part of Nora’s work, along with doing her best to make a name for herself as a business woman at a time in history when a boss-lady was something to laugh at.  When she has the opportunity to invest in a transportation business that’s been on the rise for five years, she sensed she was falling into a pit of treachery.  Little did she know how deep that pit went.

“Believe in your dreams. They might be telling you who you REALLY are!”

Frankie Perinier

Young, ambitious, and looking for more out of life than most men his own age, Frankie takes a job as a clerk at Martin Transport Co., buys his own bar, and puts himself in a position to know a bit too much about the business dealings of his employers.  He’s been incredibly lucky so far in life, and the downside of it is that it has made him feel “bullet proof” – which of course he is not, both figuratively and literally.

Darcel Drayson

A mysterious woman, who enters the scene without notice, seeking out Paul Martin in the hopes of finding a job.  As what?  Something legitimate?  Something illegal?  That answer is complicated.  During her first week in New York, Darcel stumbles into the path of our Mr. Allen, and says yes to a bold offer he makes.

Paul Martin

Mid-twenties, and far more successful than most men his own age – or even those a decade older for that matter.  Working with his brother, Charles, he pushes the Martin Transport Co. until it reaches the level of much bigger businesses.  His sometimes cocky, ruthless ways may come back to haunt him.  And when an old family friend of the family shows asking for help, he has a decision to make.  Should he tell Darcel the truth about his company?  About himself?  About his brother?  Yes, it’s a big list of secrets he carries around, and with a woman as conniving and intelligent as Darcel underfoot, he knew he’d had to tell her something to keep her off the trail of the bigger, more dangerous truths.

And

Of course there’s a tone of facts to fill in all the blanks!  I love writing about these characters and adding new faces and names will be more to widen the story about our core characters than to move in totally different directions.

You will see, of course, as time goes on and Book #4 “Finding Home” is published!

All the best

Nancy
